Objective

brainstorm

My design team and I conducted a quick brainstorming session to generate ideas for visual materials aimed at guiding the campus community on COVID-19 safety measures.

Primary Concept and Visuals

updated designs

As the pandemic evolved, so did our messaging and even our mascot. After years of service to the University, Roebuck retired, and Bo became our new mascot. This transition provided an opportunity to refresh our COVID-19 materials and introduce new messaging, as directed by the University.

Following our brainstorming session, we developed most of the initial concepts within 1-2 days and had the designs printed and digitally distributed across campus within a week.

Campus digital signage

Gardner-Webb is known as the "Runnin' Bulldogs," or "Dawgs" for short. My design team and I came up with the phrase, "Mask up, Dawgs," as our primary concept and implemented it on social media, door signage, campus digital signage, table tents, banners, window clings, etc.

Rectractable Banners

Social Media Posts

Table Tents and Window Clings

To convey other important University messages, we created supplemental materials that were distributed across campus and social media.

Supplemental Visuals

Physical Distance Reminders

(Instagram post)

The University encouraged participation in vaccination drives across campus, and the materials below supported that message. We also updated our general "mask up" and physical distancing visuals.

Retrospective

The work we produced, combined with the support and cooperation of the campus community, helped keep our COVID-19 cases low on campus. From a design perspective, given our time constraints, we did an excellent job of quickly producing designs and remaining flexible during such a challenging time.
