During the renovation of Decker Residence Hall at Gardner-Webb University, there was a request for a timeline display in the lobby. This installation aimed to not only highlight the University's history but also bring a modern touch to the space.
Objective
The University's brand was implemented in this design. Since the wall was long, I kept the timeline horizontal. The red acrylic panel contains the University’s mission statement and supports the brand. The background image of Decker Hall keeps the design from looking too red, black and white, and the layered panels on top of the vinyl wall covering add visual interest. Overall, I enjoyed learning more about the University through this project, and loved adding sentimental elements like the "Fight Song" lyrics and the historic dog logo. It really transformed the space.
